As executive director of the IBM-sponsored ACM-ICPC and a former co-coach and contest judge, Dr. Bill Poucher knows the World Finals inside and out.  Since 1977, he has watched teams from around the world – Prague to Canada, Russia to the US – take home the coveted World’s Smartest Trophy.  What predictions does he have for the 2011 competition? Around the World with Jim Spohrer - A Look at IBM’s Global University Programs

With the World Finals quickly approaching, 105 international teams are preparing for a once in a JimSpohrercloseup.jpglifetime experience in Orlando.  But the ACM ICPC contest is just one of the many ways that IBM reaches out to the global academic community each year.  Jim Spohrer, Director of IBM’s Global University Programs, talks with podcast guest host Tim Willeford about IBM’s commitment to fostering the next generation of programming superstars in partnership with more than six thousand universities across the world.  Jim shares a few predictions on what our finalists can anticipate on the contest floor.
